She really likes to write, read, and paint. Ultimately, she’d love to write, but she’s also interested in potentially being a dietician. She’s originally from New Jersey, but has been in Philly for about a year and a half. She called Philly “diet New York,” but she said that she likes Philly a lot.

Rita likes shopping at Buffalo Exchange, Forever 21, American Apparel, and thrift stores. She also sews and occasionally makes dresses and skirts for herself. Her dress is from Forever 21 and her scarf is from Zara.

It’s been hard for me to start scouting and interviewing again. I’m definitely out of practice and not as bold as I had been when I decided to take a little break. Rita made it really easy for me though. When I first stopped her, she was super flattered and sweet and said that getting stopped by a street style blogger was one of her dreams. You can visit Rita and say hi at either of her Tumblrs: Something About a Fish and Bill Cosby Nudes.

Leanne just graduated from the library science program at Drexel and is looking for a job. Hear that, libraries? Hire her! She’s from New Jersey, but she now enjoys living in the Italian Market. Aside from looking for employment, she spends her time reading and playing piano. Her dream job is to be a “very well paid librarian,” and the last book she read was The People of Paper, by Salvador Plascencia.

Leanne described her style as the “librarian look.” Her glasses are from Warby Parker, her dress is from a thrift store, and her cardigan is from T. J. Maxx. I love black, white, and red together, not to mention a good dress and cardigan combo.

Her Ray-Bans do throw off that estimate, though. If she could wear just one thing for a week, it would be a giant onesie with footies. A wise girl. Comfort over style, people.

Clark Park on Saturday mornings is like the town square of West Philly. We’ve gone out of town most weekends since we moved to the city, but when we’re home my favorite weekend activity is to walk to the Farmers’ Market with my husband, Chad, and/or my sister or friends.

I thought it’d be a great place to find people to photograph. I was right.

Meet Katie, an elementary school art teacher and photographer.

Katie gets her wardrobe inspiration from That Girl. Her dream is to be a combination of Ann Marie from That Girl and Miss Frizzle from The Magic School Bus. She loves colors and doesn’t like to buy anything new. This dress came from Astro Vintage, which sadly has gone out of business. Most of Katie’s clothes are thrifted, and she used to get most of her favorite things from dumpsters and abandoned houses. “I love a million colors and if I could wear all of them at once, I would!” she told me, laughing.

I get nervous photographing photographers because I am quite new to taking photos and I certainly don’t presume to call myself a photographer, but Katie was super sweet and even suggested that we go on photography adventures together around the city! I might have to take her up on that offer.
